The committee members of the Malaysian Music Therapy Association (MMTA) consists of clinicians with diverse background and working experiences.
Sheen pursued a music therapy degree at Berklee College of Music after completing a Bachelor of Music in Arranging from the University of Westminster.
She is currently working in private practice with a diverse clientele - children, youth and adults with special needs, the geriatric population (Dementia, Alzheimer’s, end of life support etc.), in neurological rehabilitation, and in mental health support. Previous work settings include pediatric palliative care in Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL) where she also conducted in-services for hospital staff and doctors.
Sheen believes in diversity and integration - both in methods, as well as the clientele she works with. She believes that her work with people across multiple populations informs one another. Her practice as a music therapist is also anchored in music’s role in wellbeing and healthcare as the perfect intersection between expressive arts and neuroscience.
