The committee members of the Malaysian Music Therapy Association (MMTA) consists of clinicians with diverse background and working experiences.
Cheryl Mow is a qualified and registered music therapist with the Australian Music Therapy Association. She graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Arranging from the University of Westminster, and later pursued the Master of Music Therapy at the University of Queensland. She plays the piano, guitar and ukulele.
Her music therapy clinical experiences in Australia include dealing with people in aged care, children in hospital, adults in mental health setting and people with special needs. She was also trained in teaching at Forte School of Music and in Orff Schulwerk Approach to Music & Movement. Her passion in dealing with children and developing music therapy in our local community is what draws her back to Malaysia. She currently works with children/teenagers with special needs, supervises university students and conducts seminars/workshops for various organizations. Her other involvements include working with Persatuan Kebajikan Kanak-kanak Kurang Upaya (P3KU) and Malaysian Society for Music in Medicine (MSMM). She likes to unwind by the beach with a good cup of coffee after a busy season at work.
